I'm off to Radio Shack in a moment to get a few parts to convert my Enermax EG465P-VE FC to a EG465P-VE FCA

The only difference is Im going to place the Rheostat to the PSU on the front of my case.

Can you post how you do the mod. I'd like to do the same to my psu. With the automatic temp control the fan barely moves any air. I'm sure I could get my cpu temp down a couple of degrees if I could get that hsf to suck more air away from it.

azhari,
I just got a 25ohm Rheostat from The Shack and Im simply going to attach the current going to the 80mm fan and re-route it to the Rheostat with extra wire leading from the PSU to the Front of my case.
Heres a Tutorial on using Rheostats.

Im probably going to add the Rheostat tomorrow as I have to watch Pearl Harbor on DVD with some friends.
My Digital camera really stinks but Ill try to take some pictures for you.
PS I read that you can make the 80mm fan on the Enermax FC spin at max rpm by simply cutting the Temp probe on the PSU and hooking those two wires together. Before I add the Rheostat tomorrow I will take a multimeter and see if the rheostat can be used on solely the FC probe wire.
Thanks Silver. I appreciate that. It would be great if I can just put a rheostat in the place of the temp probe.

I think that it is lame that Enermax does that to their psu's. If it were me, I would just buy the one without the temp controlled fan. They make you believe it is better, but more and more, I hear people that just want to get that fan going!....
