I found two old celeron 300 (not 300a) SL2YP cpu's laying around at work. Got to looking at them, and the cores are two different sizes. One of them is a Costa Rica and the core on it extends out to the edge of the pins. The other is a Malay and the core is much smaller, sitting well inside the pins. Anybody ever seen this before? Know what the deal is? Thanks is advance.
got me....do a little digging on Intels website
maybe you can find some old PDF's or something

I would have to say two different architectures. The other thought could be the cache. I would say its one of the two.
yes C300a with cache has a larger footprint.. but scott21 sez it's both c300, not a..
maybe a 0.35micron chip and a 0.25..?
intel made the P2-233,266,300 on a .35micron proces.
Not sure about the older cellies.
Celeron mendocinos are 0.25micron.
