MATRIX Raid?

Ive seen this mentioned here...and Intel's description has too much marketting buzzwords in it for me to understand.

What is so special about it?

Faster performance?

Not really a performance feature, but it lets you stripe and mirror on 2 hard drives... so you can set the first partition to stripe for performance, and the second partition to mirror for back up...

IIRC motherboards must have the ICH8R chipset to run MATRIX raid. To my surprise the P5W DH does not.

Its a huge performance feature for hard disk access. I want to do it myself but really like my current 680i board on my Quad.

It will work on ICH7R as well...
