ive got an athlonxp 1500 thats running at about 48c idle on an asus a7v266e m/b.

i think this is high compared to results shown here.
at the moment im just using a regular coolermaster hsf and i think this is half the problem.

can anyone recommend out the sk6 or globawin fans?(as these are easily available)
(& are they light enough to be mounted without using additional brackets etc.)

thanks

Personally, I would recommend the Swiftech. Extremely easy to install, but heavy and expensive. Otherwise, the SK6 seems pretty popular around here.

Thermaltake Volcano 6cu or 6cu+. The "+" is a lot louder, but recommended if you want to O/C. They are a lot cheaper than the other recommendations.

Did you read the articles on the front page about the A7V266E not reading the temp diode correctly? It reads much higher than the actual temp is. Just an FYI.
