Yeah, the 7500 is definitely a more powerful card. However, it is still a DirectX 7 part. Really, it's like the original Radeon with a die shrink and much higher memory clock.

7500 is a Radeon with balls, it will easily beat a G2Ti200. It does support some DX8 features just not al of them.

Gotta say I love my 7500 , can we say Crystal Orb it, can not wait till this Friday when I put it on!!!!!!!

Actually the best score for a 7500 is 5691. With my Ti200 i got 6539 default settings, no tweaks.

I wasn't suggesting the 7500 was an inferior card because it isn't. The GF2 Ti isn't even in the same league. I think the 7500 was really meant to compete with GF3 ti200.

7500 was meant to compete with G3 Ti200 but it gets beat flat out.

If you get a good retail 7500 as I did they will do 330-340/530-550 with good cooling , ramsinks ASII and a Crystal Orb.

With that overclock they are now faster than a Geforce 2 Ultra but giving you newer technolgy.

Would be interesting to see how much closer the 7500 overclocked to the max would be to an overclocked Ti200, I know it would still be beat but I am interested in comapring if anyone can post a link to their overclocked Ti200 G3 cause this week my Crystal Orb will be on and I will give it my best shot.

There is a new geforce2 ti out
the Gainward geforce2ti 500
competes heavily with the Radeon 7500
Its hard to decide which one though
you can look at a review at neoseeker.com
both cost about the same
both have cons and pros....
so hard to decide

too bad its selling for 130$, and only competes with the 7500 when heavily overclocked, and heavy ocing can be done to the 7500 as well..

Ok then i guess i will get the radeon 7500. Another question should I go OEM or retail? I can get OEM for $ 228 (Canadian) or retail for $ 258.

BTW I will be buying these at a store not ordering them. If I buy the OEM I will get the drivers and the card. But if I buy retail is there really anything in the box worth 30 extra dollars?

also don't worry about warranty, the store is prepared to give me a warranty.

In what benchmarks does the Radeon 7500 beat the ti500 gf2?
In the review i was looking at it *pretty* much kept a steady lead over the Radeon 7500 on Quake

i bet you this was at 16bit color...noone plays at that resolution, here let me find a review for you, also just a note, stay away from one benchmark tests....i could pick a video decoding bench mark and "prove" that a P4 1.5 is faster than an Athlon 1800+, and we know thats not true....

note: I jsut checked and the OEM 7500s also have 4.0ns ram, its not worth the extra money, Digit-Life got their Power magic card from 270/500 to 360/520.....its not worth the extra money for retail, also you can get an OEM for 110$, not 120....

Nope it wasn't only on 16-bit
it was beating the 7500 on Quake 3 even at 32bit
but at 1600/1200 the Radeon was beating it but it was negligible
this can all be seen at neoseeker.com gainward ti500 review
or digit-life.com (I think)

If you are in BC Canada you can get a retail 7500 at London Drugs for $199 and the same this week at futureshop, there is no way I would pay $250 for it you would be crazy, when you can get it alot cheaper LOL

yes, but the 7500 beat it in the quaver demo, and most other games...
