View Full Version : Anyone else with this card: XFX 7600 gt xxx edition ?
I recieved the 7600 gt XXX edition for christmas and I was wondering what sort of experiences people have had with it. How is it as far as overclockability? Is it better or worse than a regular 7600gt? Im thinking better as it came clocked out of the box at 590mhz core ;) What sort of clocks can i likely get out of its stock cooler and what would be a good aftermarket cooler upgrade for it? What are the overall fastest stable drivers for it? Any special bios upgrades or tweaks for it? You guys know the drill. Any help, tips, or personal experiences with this card would be greatly appreciated :)

Mine was a great overclocker. One recommendation is a new cooler, say a VF900 or VF700, because the stock fan is fairly loud and it isn't the most effective. Stock temps on mine were about 50 idle, and 60ish under load.
Benchmarks are in my sig if you're interested.

Great clocker. No regrets here.
thanx for the replies. Im hoping to find out how high she will go soon but i need to find a way to disable cpu throttling on my motherboard first:/ figured this out when i ran 3dmark and got a lower score when i auto overclocked the card. btw
msi motherboards suck :( 4th msi board i ever owned and all have been a pain in the rear
btw
725 core
1.8 mem
24 hours 3dmark stable cards not even breaking a sweat yet. gonna love to see what it does when i replace the stock cooler and push it to the limit ;)

Wow, I thought my card had great clocks! Congrats, 725/900 is really good.
Good luck with the throttling ;)

if you do ever feel that you are going to replace the stock cooler, the vf700 would be a good choice - i replaced the cooler on my 6800gs with the vf700cu and it let me take the card to 450/1200 benchable. not to bad when it came stock @ 350. i had feeling if i ever did a volt mod i could have gone higher. temps never broke 40*C the vf700 is a very good cooler. :)
Yeah I got the XFX fatal1ty one. Overclocked well. i love it. See sig.
thanks for the replies guys. this card surprises me. i was away in iraq for over a year and when i got back my fx5200 ultra started flaking out. i got the 7600gt as a replacment and was expecting only so/so performance but im amazed at how well it does for the price i paid O_o Anyone have any driver recomendations?
