dead cpu?

what are some ways to tell ur cpu dead other then ur mobo wont boot up?

if its burnt or the die is damaged somehow.

Test it in another system w/ a different board.

my gigabyte mobo had a fail/safe cpu fan jumper.(so it wont boot unless theres a 3000rpm fan on the cpu fan header. smart idea)

so i got it running again, i guess this was a waste of 2 posts, but basically you cant ever give up with it comes to computers, seems like theres always something about them u miss, or don't know.
