I have no actual problem other than an annoyance....

I boot from my 250gb WD Sata harddrive with no issues, this new computer is working like a dream, but my annoyance factor is everytime I boot I get a "No Master IDE H.D.D Detected" error.

I've disable the "Hit F1" bypass errorthing option in the bios so it automatically goes past the error, but is there anyway to remove this message? The computer beeps at me a bunch when booting because of this issue and I'm somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to having my computers being happy.

MOBO: Asus P5B Deluxe
BIOS: v. 0910
Harddrive: WDC WD2500KS-00MJB0 <--(Zero's, not O's)

<< I did a search for this issue, but couldn't find the any mention of it, my Search-Fu may not be up to par. If already mentioned, a link would be appreciated. Thanks a bunch! >>

What SATA port are you plugged into? Doesn't Asus recommend using a specific port first?

Could this be the J-Micron Controller's warning, or is this from the ICH8R? If this is the J-Micron, and you are not using it - just disable it in BIOS.

My P5B-Dlx just came in (still in the shipping box), so I haven't even POST'd it yet, much less booted from it...

Bah, nevermind, I fixed it. It wasn't the IDE Harddrive Error that was making my machine beep at me. It was a CPU Fan Error.

I fixed it.

I use the Zalman 9700 and for some reason the mobo doesn't read the speed on it when I have the throttle control knob attached, although it is working perfectly. My cpu temps is max 50C on Heavy Load.

Make sure you update that bios! I'm using 0910. The one that came with it was 0507, and it was limiting my OC potential! I couldn't get above 2.8ghz. With 0910, I am at 3.2 at the moment.

Already DL'd 1004 last night. As long as it boots a e6600 with the stock BIOS, I should be fine (assuming it lets me POST with my RAM - I heard the SPD is setting voltages too low, and causes issues with some RAM until you manually set the Timings and Voltage)

I was lucky enough to have the 0507 recognize my ram fine, but I had to play around with it a little to get my OC to work with no errors...

All in all.. I'm a happy camper and my computer is smiling with a big cheese on it's face.
