I have the old soundblaster live! and it is slowly crapping out. now-a-days i can not run anything hardware rendered or I get a loud buzzing noise. driver is updated.

I am wanting a new card that is of good quality and performs well under games, i play fear and bf2142. I like the x-fi extreme gamer fatality but have heard bad reports from it. i really like the remote and front interface. any other good card that has those qualities?

if your planning on upgrading to vista eventually, and want to carry over your sound card, i'd check out some of the X-Fi cards... it looks like there are some cards that are having issues because of the HAL being removed from Vista.

dude get the x-fi extreme music , or if you dont like it check into the audigy 2s. There both good options and good cards the catch is, do you have the dough for it?

yea I was checking out the xtreme gamer and the audigy 2 zs. I think i'll get the x-fi chip since it is more of the future I guess. seems the audigy 2 is being phased out.

what about the x-fi platinum?
