Networking with phoneline

I'm a newbie at networking so be easy now. I want to share my 56k connection with one other computer in my house. I am thinking about the networking using the phone line, it has only 1mbs i think, that's more than enough for 56k and printing.

Here is the problem, this seem like old technology (might be wrong) does it compatible with windows xp? anyone know a good kit that can be use with windows xp? thanks a lot

what i sugest my friend is that you get a couple of cheap realtek chipset netork cards and some cat 5 as it will cost evry little to do this, network cards are cheap and cat 5 cable is as cheap as cable for telephone lines.
