Hi all,

I recently picked up a sony laptop (PCG-FX340) with a crashed hard drive for free. It has a P-IIIM chip that runs at 100fsb so the original mem in it was pc100. However, it seems there are more deals around for pc133 memory. Can I put this in the laptop without any problems?

Thanks!

Not sure about SODIMM's, but in desktops the problem comes from some PC133 modules using the crappy high-density chips on the module. The low-density chips are always compatible with the older PC's.
