Back to the subject. Which ones have you tryed before and do you normally smoke Cigars?
I don't smoke but on occasion I have been known to smoke a cigar or two:eek: once a year (or two).
Sweet, so in and 2nded, I want in on online liquor deals.

Its nice just for the humidor, don't know about the cigars.
I now live about an hour away from the shop I used to get cubans from. At 12-$15 a pop they weren't cheap but my god was it nice to have a smoke at the end of the week.
romeo y julieta are my favorites, which they never had a great selection of, so any size would do, but the petit corona or short curchill is nice.
Of course they always had most sizes of Punch which are always nice, and the much to famous Cohiba.

ya what's that about... maybe some states require you to be 21, so that's why they have it set like that? who knows...

The puck works jsut fine, got one in my larger humidor at home. It is kinda finicky at first because there is no "fill line" so to speak so you need to judge how much water you need to add in order to reach a good humidity level. But after a few times you get the hang of it.

lol good idea. Might order one just to do that since I already got a humidor lol. too bad its ugly, I like the one the OP has better :D

Humidor care 101
New Humidor Prep
1 Remove and fill the humidity device with distilled water.
2 With a fresh sponge, dampened with distilled water, thoroughly wet the sides, top and bottom of the humidor interior.
3 Leave the damp sponge in the humidor, resting on a plastic bag. Make sure there is no direct contact between the sponge and humidor.
4 Install the humidity element.
5 Close the humidor overnight or for at least 12(24 max).
6 Open the humidor, remove the sponge and plastic bag.
7 Close humidor again for an additional 12, ensuring the interior wood has a raised level of humidity prior to storing cigars.
8 Your humidor is now ready.
The most comman mistake is that people will add more water every month. This can leave you with moist or even moldy cigars. If the humidor is to humidity leave the lid open for a few hours.
Next mistake is not adding any water. A dry humidor makes for dry cigars. Dry cigars burn hotter messing up the flavor and makes the cigar crack.
Humidity inside a humidor should be 65-75% 70% is best. You can read this with a hygrometer or by your own judgement.
Tips
A mixture of one part Propylene Glycol one part distilled water will help keep humidity at or around 70%.
I have heard and rad of people whipping the inside with brandy or whiskey instead of water to "add" to the flavor. I haven't tried it myself. I'm not a brandy or whiskey guy, I like my vodka.
Store in cool place out of direct sun light.
While the inside down ever 3 to 6 months.
Cigars are like wine, when age right they get better.
Remove cellophane
Fresh air. open the humidor one every few weeks(if it hasn't been opened).
Dry cigar can be "restored" as long as the out warp hasn't been cracked and the tabcoo inside isn't turning to dust.
To do so put cigar in a control area. A bowl with plastic wrap would work. Add a plastic bag with a damp spounge to slowly raise the humidity. After a few days at a high humidity the cigar's aroma will returning. Place back into you humidor.
Temps
Best 64-70F
below 54f slows aging process
over 75F can lead to worm infestation
I think that's it. I'm sure there better guilds online but I was bored.

Temps over 75..... worms... its almost always over 75f here... should I throw them in the fridge?
PS when can I join a good cigar guild? ;)
Got mine today. Charging the humi now. Got the same box as d94 and ordered on the 2nd, shipped the 3rd. The sticks look great, no shipping damage. The box rolled one smells great, can't wait to smoke it.
Edit: Only 19 and got them fine. I think the 21 thing is to cover their bases where it might be illegal for purchase.

I'm not sure about the fridge, it may get to humid. Maybe the basement, a cool closet or a room with an ac just don't put it next to the ac.
Got mine and didn't prep the humidor. Thanks for the instructions I had to stray a little since I'm keeping them in my office, water from the water fountain and a paper towel instead of a sponge :o

not good dude, you have to use distilled water, otherwise it'll ruin the wood
and a paper towel leaves a paper trail... lol

I'd let it dry out a bit, and then get some distilled water. Paper towel is not that bad, but while you're buying the distilled water, just pick up a sponge.
Already re-wet it with distilled (bottled) water, I'm tempted to light one of those cigars up but I don't have the time to smoke an entire cigar and I'm not a fan of re-lighting them :o

Your sticks are prolly a bit dry now... Try and get them some humidity.

Wet all the sides down with some distilled water. Pour some into a shot glass or bowl and nuke it in the microwave a little. Put the bowl in the humi for awhile. 2-4 days the RH should stablize and be ready for use. If your planning on taking up the hobby and maybe buying a few more sticks, I would go ahead and get beads to keep the RH for you.
http://www.heartfeltindustries.com/ is a great source for them.

Wet all the sides of the humidor device?
Then put a shot glass with warm water in the box?
Maybe my older bro can assist me too. :D
It was asked before but I didn't notice an answer and there doesn't seem to be one on the site - does anyone know if they ship international?
Wet all the sides of the humidor device?
Nono, the box itself. The walls of the box.
If you have a spray bottle handy use it to wet the humidifer, if not just submerge it to about half way in DI water and then shake it to get the loose water out of it.
Then put a shot glass with warm water in the box?
Yep

My guess would be no. But you may try emailing them for a 100% sure answer.
