Hey I have recently come into possession of a new 17" monitor. Its nothing great but it does 1280x1024 at 70hz, so its not too shabby. Little blurry at high res.. anyways.. I was thinking of setting it up as a second monitor to run while gaming for winamp or tv.

The question is: Should I go for a radeon all-in-wonder pci, to control the monitor and the tv, or buy a cheapish pci gfx card and a separate TV Tuner card?

ah, good question! well, I guess The Radeon is a better choice because it means one less card you have to add, so it's that less likely to cause trouble.

If possible, I'd say to just get the biggie Radeon, I believe the top o the line model supports 2 monitors and has TV built in too.

I agree with the last post. Reason being I experimented with the same setup you are talking about. The extra card wreaked havoc with the system, one card = less headaches. I finally got it to work soon the novelty wore off and now I wonder what the heck I was thinking. Back to one monitor now.

unless your poor
im assumeing you already have a vid card

i have a 40 buck pci card i bough at compusa
does winamp and stuff like that pretty good but it has some troubles with dvd so im not sure how it would do with tv tunner

also some times it F's with your game becuase if you go to far to the right or left the mouse pops up on the second monitor so i always disable the second monitor before any serious gameplay

what they need to do is come up with some games that support dual monitors
