Well, my CD drive went out on me and I have thought of replacing it with either 1: a second cdr/w drive (Plextor 16/10/40 @ $123) or 2: an Ultra Wide SCSI Plextor 40x CD drive($108). My main reason for thinking about a second burner is because they seem to last longer than regular cd drives and are usualy better quality (less noise, etc.).

I have never messed with SCSI drives so I have no idea what brand of controller is best, or what exactly I should look for when buying one (aside from being Ultra Wide compatible). Also, I was hoping to get your opinions on which would be the best choice (CD or CD/RW).

I currently have a Plexwriter 12/10/32A so a second burner wouldn't realy help a whole lot...especialy since I rarley burn faster than 8x anyway. But then again, the only CD drive I would want to get would be a high quality one that won't tweak out on me (like my last one). I am prety partial to Plextor drives...but would like to see some suggestions for other drives/brands that you guys like. Also, if you know of a site with better prices than I listed :) .

Thansk a lot for all the info ahead of time :D

I have an Iwill scsi card I'm trying to trade or sell. Email me or PM me if you want.

I hope this doesn't go against the forum rules, I'm not advertising just offering him to contact me.
