Intel due to the Core 2 Duo processor launched,
Already heat up and shinning for half year.

But since the Intel platform chipset only have few products to use,
Even the overclock performance is great, but they are all Intel chipset based.
Let us feel not enough competitors with price competition in the market.

NVIDIA launched 680i/650i in end of last year, and ATI RD600 this year,
They did input some vigor into the market, also start another chipset and
market competition.

NVIDIA 680i FSB overclock ability maybe behind Intel P965 series,
But they did support SLI technology, EPP DRAM overclock and 3 more PCI-E X
16 slot for great new spec.
Another important point is memory overclock ability and divide rate is better
then 965 series.

Let’s take a look on motherboard shapes.
NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI reference board by NVIDIA,
With full spec, great overclock ability, it’s really a complete design.
Many motherboard makers use this directly to sell as OEM business, this
board is hot on the top segment market.

This is really a great performance with timing and frequency on Intel platform, especially the voltage is under 2.5V
That makes me fell amazing on 680i great DDRII adjust ability.
Let’s try more software test to verify the DDRII 1320 stability.

NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI reference push the MicornD9 modules to another sky
high level,
On Intel platform, DDRII 1300 is no more dream as long as the modules is
strong.
ATI RD600 chipset products also have better memory divide rate and
excellent on memory extreme frequency.
Compare ATI chipset product for Intel platform, we can see different positive
points on RD600/680i products. 

Another great lineup from windwithme.

As impressed as I am...
I'd be even more impressed if I did not know of the RD600 with CL5 DDR2 @ 700mhz, 1:1.
With a little T.E.C. on the chipset. ;) I don't know if that was overkill, but overkill is the way to go.
But it can run passive at 500 with some decent stock cooling.
If the 680i produced less heat and was(is?) an equal price against the RD600, I'd never be able to decide on which to buy.
