Ok so i just picked up a xbox 360 this morning. Ordered it online from bestbuy and got a $20 gift card the system and GRAW for 400.00. Not bad. Got home set it up and turned it on set all the time and date and what not, then i tried top play forza motorsports from my xbox. It said it was incompatible to the 360. So i went to www.xbox.com/game support and got the zip file and make a disk like the instructions said to. Put the disc in the 360 did the update system rebooted then i went to play the game and it still say can not play go to the website for more info. The game is on the list of compatible game but what did i do wrong?

Just hook the 360 up to live and let it update everything.

Actually forza was on the list works now. I thought i put forza in but i put toca Race Driver 3 which is not on the list. Damn you would think that all xbox games would work on the 360 but i guess microsoft said nope you need both console and we need more money. Stuff like like makes me wonder.
Wonder if there are more then one update to make older xbox games work other then the one i did.
There has been 2-3 BC updates. *still waiting for Phanton dust to go BC*

The 360's hardware is 100% incompatible with Xbox 1 code. The Xbox had a 700MHz Intel Pentium 3 processor with a Geforce 4(?) card. The 360 has 3 3.2 GHz PowerPC cores with a custom ATI card.
There's no way you could get Xbox games to run on that, in hardware. Hell, the PS3 barely can with a PS2 inside of it.

/\Its actually not an issue with the power but a legal issue due to the Xbox using Nvidia while the 360 uses ATI, and Nvidia does not want to give out how its card works to ATI.

Oh for God's sake quit making up **** and lying to the guy who has a simple question. Yes you can play Forza on your 360 and it looks and plays great, I have it myself. Just plug your damn 360 into your cat5 internet connection, stick in your Forza disc and it will prompt you to update. You WILL have to register for LIVE, but all you need is the SILVER account which costs you NOTHING. I've never tried making an update disc and using it. Haven't needed to. Also, FORZA was one of the original games to be on the compatibility list, it has worked since day 1 of the 360 release. I'm pointing fingers at the 2 posters prior to this one. STOP LYING in these console forums!!! Hell you even missed where he said that it works now, he just accidentally put in the incompatible TOCA 3. There have been many updates NewBee, just stick in any disc on the list and it'll download the update.

You sir are 100% correct, the initial release made the game look BEAUTIFUL with the AA and AF added to it, it was simply STUNNING, but it DID make the game slow down when there were more than 4 cars on the screen at once :( The 2nd update they released cured the slowness, but made it look just like it did on the original Xbox.
