I have a parralel port zip drive, with a printer attached to the Zip. It's a Zip100, and last night it was working just fine and windows recognized it. But today when I started up my computer, I noticed that it wasn't recognized at all by Windows!! I have Windows XP. I don't know what's wrong. I've checked all the connections, unplugged them, replugged them all. Nothing works. My Zip100 and my Printer aren't being read! Help please!

Maybe disable your LPT1 in CMOS and boot to the xp desktop, then restart, enable it as a good old SPP again and boot to the desktop once more. Then turn off the PC, wait 10+ seconds, turn it on and at the same time turn on the Zip. Failing this, go to the iomega website where they have the new drivers HERE (http://www.iomega.com/software/ioware31pc.html) and try installing them.
I sound like a tech support guy when I tell you to update the drivers but if you do both of these things and it doesn't work then I'll think of something else. Parallel zips are finicky sometimes. I have one (had, actually) just like yours so I know all about their nuances. Let me know what happens. Good luck.

It is possible that the port went bad. I would remove the zip drive and try to print. If possible I would confirm the printer works on another computer.

Good idea. Same with the Zip drive also.

OK, XP has PnP issues. Yet another reason for me to not like it.
