Hi!
Iīve got a major problem here.
I played around with bios and try to overclock my cpu and then after performed save and exit my computer wont start...
i have a PII 450 with an Elitegroup P6BA-A+ mainboard. I went into the bios feature setup and changed it to 133mhz instead of 100mhz and now its DEAD. The keybord doesnīt even respond. itīs just a black screen and beeping sounds coming from the internal speakers.
Is there anything i can do to save it or do i have to buy a new mainboard.
Iīve tried to take the battery out but no succes there eighter... Plz!
if thereīs anything you know about this prob. just reply to this adress.

I wouldn't think it's dead. You need to leave the battery out for a little while and remove the power plug from the back of the PSU. You probably have a Clear CMOS jumper that would be easier to use... also with the plug removed. I can clear my Abit by just removing the power plug for a few seconds or by flipping the PSU's own switch off for a few seconds.
I just looked at the jumper sheet for this board (I think) and it shows JP1 as the Clear CMOS jumper. 1-2 is normal operation, 2-3 is Clear. BE SURE TO REPLACE THE JUMPER TO NORMAL BEFORE POWERING BACK ON.
Such a high FSB jump on the first try usually isn't very good. There are some beginner guides on the main page that might be of some help to you.
LOL This happens all the time bro!!!!
Its because your bios overloaded or something it's really easy to fix.
If you have an abit board press the power button and then keep pressing insert after 3 reboots it should reset and then you will have to reconfig everything. If that doesn't work your going to have to get your manual and find jumpers to reset the cmos or pull out the battery leave it there for 15-30 mins and then put the batter or jumper back in and make sure the jumper is in BEFORE TURNING ON.. The jumper battery thing should be done with the PSU off and the PSU cord out.

Iīve worked it out.
I took the battery out for about half an hour and that did the trick.
Thanx for the help guys.
