Not that I really care but, in Sony's defense, Europe really SUCKS for everything but fashion and technology.

Most of your favorite PC power supplies and water cooling systems are from Germany. All the best PC cases are in Paris. And hard drives are cheaper in europe (except for the UK) than anywhere else in the world.

That said, after living in europe for nearly six years, I can tell you it is, without any doubt, the worst place in all the universe for video games. Maybe the game was made in the Japan... maybe made in the USA... but wherever it was made it will come to Europe DEAD LAST, and be at least 20 percent more expensive than in any other regions. Last I checked 360 games at the Virgin Megastore in Paris were going for 69.99 euros.., That's almost NINETY DOLLARS.

At least portable games are similarly priced. I'm assuming this is because business travelers simply wouldn't buy them if they weren't.

How's this a defense of Sony? Well I guess it's not. I'm just sort of ticked about my whole "European Experience" right now... I suppose it's entirely unrelated. So just enjoy the article from gamespot.

They may not "get" videogames, but at least they have discos, techno music, cigarettes and David Hasselhoff....LOL!!!

i think it was a smart move to move to software emulation, will be cheaper to produce the ps3 and may drop the price quicker than normal. besides the ps2 is the most sold console of all time so i think people are likely to have one for the bc they want if their 10 year old games don't work on the ps3. the good news is that motostorm comes out on the 6th and will be amazing

Software emulation will probably be pretty bad at first but in time will probably out due hardware emulation. There are rumors that in time it may upscale games and also undo region codes, mean I could finally import some of those crazy Japanese games and be able to play them.

We have a few things in Uk which is good Hard House, techno, Happy Hardcore (old school stuff from the 90's) music and Dance is also wicked anyways back to the subject. And some decent fashion I suppose (get back on track AFUK83) and some nice women if you look hard enough without alcohol in some cases (slaps self in face). Huh hmmmm But games and consoles are expensive and PC hardware prices are way out the way I just paid £78 for a 3700+ San Diego 939 CPU.

But 1 thing is for sure I ain't getting a PS3 I am happy with my 360 and newly build PC I'll wait till my mate gets in 24 days time see how crap it is. And I had a funny feeling Sony would do something like this after reading there cutting production costs for PS3 cause there loosing money on the CELL production etc.

/\Actually this was announced a long time ago, it just recently resurfaced as "new" news and I am really not sure why. The Emotion Engine was only to be used until they felt Backwards compatibility via software was acceptable. Anyway Sony is claiming that by launch over 1,000 titles will be playable from the PS2 system and that number will continue to grow. Maybe it's just me but 1,000 games seems like a good amount to start at.

:)

Paris is my favorite city in western Europe, wouldn't want to live there though, come to think of it, I cant really say Id want to live in any of the big citys. I guess if I had to pick it would be Amsterdam, no not for the "party favors". Once you get out of the city center out by Vondelpark its very nice, has a feeling all its own.

Best thing about Europe as a whole are the clothes, and especially the shoes.
