XP Media Centre internet (LAN) problems

Core 2 Duo E6300 Corsair 1024x2 ddr2 800 OCZ 700w
ABIT AB9 QuadGT P965 XFX 8800 GTS 2xSeagate 320GB perpendicular

Built system myself but running into problems with windows.
Windows XP Media Centre Edition 2005.
Firewire and Lan showing up in device manager as working properly but network devices in control panel is empty.
Installed old copy of Xp (that i got with my laptop) and lan is working fine. Also borrowed copy of vista and that finds the lan fine too.
Seems to be a specific XP Media manager problem or could it be a corrupted install cd

it seems obvious but have you tried installing the drivers for them manually?

Yea. No joy. Any reason why they would show up in device manager but windows wont recognise them.
