lol You avatar is so funny! ^^
Just half a year ago we were arguing that $300 was way too much for the top card :( . And now $500 is the norm?
to me it makes no diff, I build alot and trade alot, so its just computer equity in my eyes.... move up when you can and trade up. there's always people that cant afford what you bought new 3-6 months ago, you give them a deal you get a deal, and it continues.
rattle has inherited my problems... and that's why i still haven't upgraded and he does...
rattle needs to go to the same rehab center that i went to, but i think he's in denial. :D
yeah seriously rattle... b4 the other guy said so, when i read ur post that u went and got a GTX i was already laughing... cuz i remember when u sold urs in classies just recently.
:) but i can relate, and u know it!!! :D
that GTS 640 looks like a good deal... but i'll still stick it out with my x1800 512. :)
I dont have any problems, i just enjoy hardware and I like to try out stuff.
I trade and build alot so money for hardware is almost always there.

i'm just messin'... you know that!
i did EXACTLY what u say... i made cash on side doing PC work, and when i did, it was money to spend on my own PC... lately i haven't had much interest in doing that cuz it takes too much of my time... but when it's time that i FEEL the upgrade again, i'll ease my way into it... trying to stay away from the FREQUENT upgrades cuz really it took a lot of my time...
=)
yes I been getting away from it more and more but i got bored !

Wow, so my 6800 Ultra isn't so ultra anymore :( ?
I guess I will wait for Crysis!
haha. I'm the same as Rattle I think. The last two months has been one continuous upgrade for me.
And I still have 4 C2D's sitting on my self... That was def worth it though. I managed to get an e6300 that does 3.6GHz on <1.5V.

Some of you may be too old ( :p ), but college is a good medicine for keeping that upgrading to a minimum :D

Oh trust me, I'll find that out soon enough.

On Topic:
I have the PX8800 GTS 640mb. It's at 600/900 with no errors or artifacts in ATiTool's test (at 50 minutes now.)
Definitely good bang for buck right there.

for those that got the card, what did you send in for the rebate? the UPC, or the UPC and the thing below it?
