1.4 t-bird or 1500 xp

they t-bird overclocks better from what i see in the database... and i can unlock it with a pencil... i'd rather not **** with the xp.. opinions?

The 1.4 T-Birds are unlocked from the factory, no need for a pencil. If you are after pure MHz than yes, the T-Bird will Probably OC better but I have seen some 1600's get up to @1740 with no problem. If you get an XP, here is a really easy way to unlock it, I've done 2 CPU's and it took all of 5 minutes. Also XP's run cooler too...

That, and if you're doing gaming, the XP has the added bonus of the SSE instruction set. Much better for games, as most games are written using either that or SSE2 in mind.

the porblem is i have already attempted to unlock a 1600. I did it sucessfully but 1 time i just rebooted and had no video.. it was bad stuff... I used the rear window defroster kit so i am fcked cause i lost the warenty..

Exactly why the defogger way SUCKS! People just don't want to understand that though. The way I do it is totally reversible, so, if you blow up the CPU you just wipe the grease out and RMA that sucker! Sorry to hear about your 1600:(

yes i realize this... but it's not to bad.. well it is but this is my small story.... i ordered an epox 8kha+ and a 1600 ... this was to replace my 750mhz intel that was running @ 1 ghz. Well i get the box.. or should i say boxes. I got 2 boxes 1 with the procesor and 1 with my audigy platinum sound. where the f is my motherboard i payed for 1 day mail. so i call and yell and stuff and then they say hmmm well it should be in the same box as ur sound card. No it's not..he puts another 1 on shipping 2day air... he said 1 but i look up the tracking it was 2 ... i am ****ed right because if i pay for 1 day air i want that sob now! I goto school and come back guess what.. i have an epox 8kha+ sitting on my doorstep.. I think wow that is fast 2 day air... hmm well i wake up this morning only to hear my dogs barking at the fed-ex guy.. guess what he has brought me... rofl another 8kha+ motherboard.. so i fried my palamino only to have 2 damn motherboards .. this sucks because i could have bought 1 more 1600 and had 2 kcik ass computers instead i have to buy 2 to have 2 kick ass computers... i am such a dumbass i should have just waited to oc it. wait to get some of the silver compound.. btw where do i get that stuff? anyway now i am talking on the forum from my t-bird 750.. this is as high as my motherboard will handle.. i bought it before i knew the way of the oc it's a slot... i am also stuck with a decision now.. should i put the 750mhz intel @ 1ghz into this machine and get rid of the t-bird or should i buy another palamino... geezuz i am so confused and ****ed at myself i know better... stupid eager beaver me :o
