BE6-II version 1.0 + CeleronIII 1200 + Powerleap iP3T = ????

Hi,

The motherboard I have is a Abit BE6-II version 1.0,
I want to use a CeleronIII 1200 with the Powerleap iP3T
slot1-to-socket converter....

On the homepage of Powerleap they say that the iP3T
supports the Abit BE6-II version 2.0, but I was wondering
if some of you overclock-boyz had tried it on my version 1.0
motherboard already????

btw the Powerleap’s homepage doesn't state anything
about my board.....

thanx in advance.....

Greetzzzz...tHe_BiNk.......

my system:
Abit BE6-II version 1.0
CeleronII 566@104fsb->884
Cooler Alpha PEP 66
iwill slot1-to-socket converter
1x Kingston valueram 256 mb 133 mhz dimm
Win2000

In good conscience I couldn't recommend using a powerleap adapter in the case of the Tualatin...

there have been too many negative reviews already and fewer successes. Just be weary!

Can anybody recommend another better converter??????

I am now using the Iwill Slocket II which supports a Vcore of
1.30 to 3.50 volt.....will this work with the new CelIII

Greetingzzzzz

No, your Iwill won't work with a Tualatin. I got a PowerLeap Tualatin 1.2 GHz Celeron combo to play with. It works fine on my Soyo SY-6BA+IV, but won't overclock at all. PowerLeap says that the BE6 II Version 2 works, but others are iffy. When I originally booted up with it, I got a BIOS checksum error and the BIOS was reset to the defaults. But all I had to do was go into the BIOS set everything back and save it. The next time it came up, it read a 176 MHz CPU (44 x4) but went right into Windows and ran great at 1.2 GHz. It ran Prime95 and 3DMark2001 fine. It would only overclock to 1.26 GHz though, so it wasn't really any faster than my current PIII 700 @ 994 MHz (FSB 142.5 MHz) do to the low FSB frequency.

I sold mine to a guy with an old Dell Dimension XPS-R and I’ll be putting it in Sunday. It’s been tested with that one, so it should be a slam dunk.

Are there any other converters that support the new stepping???

I want this computer to go faster, FASTER .....but it still needs to
be a 100% stable, as it is running 24/7 with win2000 and seti.....

I also heard something about using wires to link the pins together???

Thanx, and Greetings........tHe_BiNk.........
