I went to neoseeker today and they have a new reivew of the gainward gf2ti500 with 4ns memory and overclocking performance mode on this review the gf2 was beating the radeon 7500 hands down and even beating the g3ti200 on quake 3 in 16bit (overclocked gf2) but quake 3 is the only benchmark they did :-(
I can't really decide what to get the Radeon 7500 or the new Gainward gf2 ti500
On pricewatch the gainward retail costs about $140 with shipping while i can pick up a oem radeon 7500 for $120
What do you guys think?
I currently have a radeon le
I get 3086 on 3dmark2001 on default settings

The G2Ti500 can not be compared to a 7500, because if I am correct there isn't one.

There is only a G3 Ti500 that would be compared directly to the Radeon 8500 and currently it is very close between the 2 cards. The 8500 is top in 3D Mark2K1 and the Ti500 posts faster fps in certain applications. With ATI's next driver release the odds could swing towards the 8500 being the faster all round card and offering more performance.

The 7500 is supposes to be compared to the G3 Ti200 but it does get beat by the G3 Ti200.

The 7500 (retail has 4 ns ddr ram) clk/mem of 290/230 and it is very overclockable , sites have had stock cards up to 330/540 with just some ASII on the gpu with a lapped stock heatsink.

The 7500 is easily faster than a G2 (TWO) Ti200 and it beats in most cases or ='s the Geforce 2 Ultra in performance.

"In 16-bit color the RADEON 7500 falls behind the NVIDIA competitors by a great margin, but in 32-bit color it catches up with the GeForce2 Pro in 1024X768 and, when overclocked, it goes on a par with the GeForce2 Ultra. Taking into consideration the power of these cards, I can state that 32-bit color will be prevalent in 3D"

I have read lot of reviews the 7500 is the better buy over a Geforce 2 or Ultra card, bottom line it is newer supports more features and is faster, although it does not support all DX8 features only a few of them, but too be honest this really does not matter much and will not for a while.

If you are conmsidering the G3 Ti200 vs a Radeon the G3 Ti200 is the faster card but it costs more. Currently around $165-$170
US.

You can buy a 7500 for $125-130 US which is a very good deal, I got mine for $199 canadian ($130 US) I am happy with it and once I install my Crystal Orb and ASII on the gp[u it will overclock to 330/530-540 100% stable.

So I would pick ATI 7500 over a Geforce 2 Ti200 or Ultra.

( All nvidia did was call their Geforce 2 cards the Ti200, it is still a Geforce 2 card which is older now, compare them to say a Radeon 64 DDR vivo)

and a Geforce 3 Ti200 over a 7500 for performance.

Thats it grab a 7500 for the price in my opinion. Check my sig

Actually there is a G2 Ti500 it has 4ns ram and Grainward/Card Expert is the only company I've seen selling one of these. He was asking about the OEM radion aswell which will come with slower ram then the retail it will probably not be 4ns and it will probably be slower then your 7500 Cisco Kid but it may still beat the G2 card but I doubbt it. My G2 ultra scores 5500 in 3dmark 2001 default benchmark (overclocked card , fsb , and I'm using the new Nvidia drivers 23.11) and I think the G2 ti 500 will be very close to my G2 ultra so in my opinion the Gainward card is a better deal.

Well my logic is why buy older technology when you can buy newer for cheaper and just overclock it to get = or better performance??

7500 for $130 imho is a good deal even better at $120 which I heard you can find em for if you watch for sales.

Ya your right that is more logical I was just thinking about pure 3dmark score and fps. Is your 3dmark score with the card oveclocked?

Ok reading some of the people reviews at newegg
they said that at default no overclocking or anything the gf2ti im talking about beat the ultra in 3dmark2001 scoring a 4300 or something like that.
I would really like to see a detailed review of this card
but I thought the Radeon 7500 was just a regular radeon on steroids and had a few new technologies.. and that the 8500 had all the new technologies.
Both cards look really promising to me, so hard to decide though
How often does ati release new drivers?

you are right that The 7500 is a Radeon on steroids, therefore drivers really arent an issue because the Original radeon Drivers were very good....also the 3dmarks listing is faulty, at stockk it says im better than an Ultra and i have a pro....At one point i was able to tweak enough to make my Rage Fury Pro beat the TNT2Ultra, its no a good source fo info....a good detailed review is at www.guru3d.com they said just what Cisco Said, It whoops the Ti and the Pro (which are prettymuch the same) and comes close to an Ultra, also heres a good rating of speed in Video cards from slowest to fastest....

Geforce2 MX200
Voodoo3
Voodoo4
Voodoo5
Geforce2MX
RadeonSDR 32mb
Geforce2MX400
KyroII
RadeonLE
RadeonDDR 32mb
Geforce2GTS
Radeon 64mb DDR

Geforce2 Ti
Radeon7500
Geforce2 Ultra
Geforce3 Ti200
Radeon 8500LE

I agree
just wondering though
is a 3086 with a radeon le on 3dmark2001
that is at default settings for 3dmark
I was originally looking at the 7500 but I was sidetracked by several reviews of the gf2ti
I think I will get the 7500

I forgot
will the oem of the 7500 overclock just as well as the retail?
