Cox Cable coming in the neighborhood!!

I was outside just now helping set up my Christmas decorations and there was a guy walking around with a big clipboard. We got to talking about how hot it is(73° F) and I asked him what was going on. He replied that Cox Cable was going to be coming in the neighborhood. I immediately asked him if it was going to include cable-internet and he said yes! I can't wait until they come in so that I can dump the dialup junk!

BROADBAND ACCESS, I CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE IT! :D :D :D

It's also going to make it easy for me to keep my rigs Folding@Home when I go to work. Plus I have an old Compaq Deskpro 433 Celie that I can just fire up and let it do nothing but folding. It's now just sitting, doing nothing, in the closet..

Right on! JAWS is right, once you go cable, you'd trade body parts to keep it. I know I would. Maybe not a limb, but my toes would be in serious trouble ^^

Here where I live they promised cable for about 4 years before finally delivering it. I hope its not the same where you are.

I love living relatively close to a city... I've had cable for 3 or 4 years now. Once i had to use dial-up, and i thought the comp was broken. Then i realized the pain you all go though normally:p

i dont know if you should be too happy, COX has earned its name.....every couple weeks my connection doesnt work for a day or two (read extremely slow) i hoipe you dont have the same problem,....

well..glad your finally able to get cable...weve had cable here for quite a while. I got it a long time ago..then lost my job and had to get rid of the cable and go to...ewww..i cant say it...ehh...Di..dial...up....wow its so slow..I never realized how slow it was until after i had cable for a year...I just moved wednesday, and decided i NEEDED cable again...YEA!!..its faster then i remembered..I got it hooked up lastnight, lol..and i stayed up till 3 am just surfin'..now im at work and about to fall asleep..it was worth it :D

I got ADSL this week :eek: , WOWWWWWW what a difference from DAILLLLL UPPPPPPPP.

Now I can download @ good speeds.

Are there any good tweaks to browse Internet faster, I have an Alcatel Speed Touch Home (hacked to PRO modem) with a 512k download, 128k upload connection :beer: :beer:
