I decided to try out 400x9 (1.312vcore) from 400x8 (default voltage) and it loads into windows fine, and everything runs fine but when I try to run 3dmark06 it'll crash at random places.

The first time it crashed halfway through the second test, and the second time it crashed during the end of the first test.

I haven't changed the OC on my gfx and the temps are fine. The temps are also fine on the CPU.

Do I need more voltage on the CPU maybe, while I have it set in BIOS to 1.35 its not actually at 1.35? What gives?

I would definately raise your voltage. My CPU likes to stay close to 1.4v or so at 400x9. I know our CPU's could be incredibly different, but voltage is probably your problem. As for the actual voltage being lower, you're mobo probably has a little bit of vdroop. Mine does, not sure about how much though. But my NB voltage has a vdroop of about .04v.

I see I see...OK well lemme bump it up to 1.4 and see what happens. Oh and is there any reason you only run your C2D normally at 3.15 with default voltage?

Gah...yeah it was the voltage...oh well I don't want to go any higher than 1.4 (it made it all the way to the second CPU test this time). No 3.6ghz for me.

if your almost bench stable with 1.35v at 3600mhz why not give 3500 a shot, i bet thats orthos stable at 1,35v

Hrm...I tried 3400 (425x8) and my computer just up and froze while running 3dmark06. Pretty sure I had my vcore @ 1.35 too.
