I did type a detailed explanation, but then I was prompted for my username and pass to post, and lost it. So here's the quick version.

Installed Kouwell PCI IEEE 1394 card.
Booted OK.
Installed Adobe Premiere 6.
Rebooted OK.
Tried out card, worked great, extatic.
Turned off PC.
Went to sleep.
Woke up next day.
Tried booting, PC would not even POST.
Jiggle Cards.
Reset BIOS.
Booted OK, backed processor down to 900 (because of nice even PCI divider).
Still happy, figuring one of the cards was just loose.
Left running unattended for 6 hours.
Came back, found PC locked up while Nvidia Mercury Balls screesaver.
Tried rebooting, would not POST.
Reset BIOS.
Booted OK.
Worried/****ed.

Is the system in your signature the one you're trying to troubleshoot?

its not your cpu. i think you psu isnt big enough. you have a ton of stuff in that box. try unplugging some stuff and see if it works then.

I moved the Firewire card to a different PCI slot. Since then I've been able to colt boot and reboot without any problems. About needed a bigger PSU, I might be buying a 300w Full Tower ATX case in a couple of weeks.
