Hi, Im running my C2D at 3000mhz with the VCORE at 1.20v

Orthos is running stable and TAT is giving me a temp of 60C under a 100% load.

Doesnt this seem a bit wierd with the voltage? Im running the intel stock cooler

Its absolutelly fine.

Ive overclocked my C2D to its limit now:

Im on 1.35V Vcore
3300MHz
100% Load 75C

I'm waiting to get a Tuniq Tower and some AS5 and I hope that I will get a big temperature drop.

What temperature should I not go above? I was thinking around 70-75ish max.

TATs load temperature is a bit higher than I see when gaming/etc. 75 is pretty freakin warm though. I would probably look for not much higher than 65ish (hell my overclocked prescott never hit 70)

Yup, I doubt im never gonna go above 80% load. I will do a test on that.

80% workload in TAT roughly = dual orthos load temps.

So what % workload would simulate around 80% of the real CPU usage?

Also with a Tuniq Tower and some AS5, how much degrees do you think the temperature would drop by?

If i was to lap the heatsink, how many degrees extra would this cause the temperature to fall by?

why would you want to simulate 80% real world usage?

if you want a totally stable machine, test it with orthos that's 100%). testing it to be stable at only 80% usage is like testing the brakes on a car to be 80% effective. what happens when you have to slam on the brakes? you can't, and you get into a head on collision.

He wants to see what his real world temps would be until he can get a better cooler.

yup. i dont want to damage the cpu, so only want to do 80% atm.

that's why i said 80% workload in TAT = dual orthos temps, roughly. Dual orthos will max out your cpu's to 100% real world usage. this is what is important.
