New Wii - Locked up during update?

So finally got a Wii this morning from Target, hooked it up to my WiFi, and it started downloading the system update. It's been at the same spot for almost an hour now... I think it's locked up :(

I'm afraid to reset the console, but I don't know what else to do - it's obviously not downloading anything...

Just reset it and try again dude.

A buddy of mine had his wii lock on him as well. He just reset it and it has been fine since.

As long as it's not installing Firmware and is just downloading an update simply forcing a restart should be fine.

Well it said it was a system update, so i figured it was something to do with the firmware, but I restarted it and have been playing Zelda for a few minutes.

I guess I'll try the update again later :confused:

yea but it'll download the update and then install it. so as long as it's just downloading it then you're fine
