The Step up is quite painless, I stepped up my 7800GT for a 7900 GT CO SC.
You join the que, show proof of purchase, then when you number is called, pay the diffrence, send in your card, get the new one, and your golden..... :D
I got my 7800 bundled with there NF-41 socket 939 motherboard. Didnt even know they had a step up till my buddy said "Hey man, step up to a 7900".....heh

but how do you pay  paypal?
I plan to step up my 8800GTX hopefully if a new board comes out before my time is up. I'm right around 6 weeks right now so time is running out fast.
Also currious do you pay the difference from what you paid for your board or what they charge for your board?

I know a guy that has used couple of times and didn't have any troubles with it.
Works as advertised :)

The only problem with it, in my eyes, is that they will not cross ship the cards. Instead, you send yours in, then once evga gets it and processes the trade, they send yours out.
It can be a problem for anyone that doesn't have a spare card to stick in their rig while they're waiting for the replacement to come.

the step up program is SO amazing, they ppl at evga are GREAT!.
Heres my story.
Back in late august i built the main system in my sig, i got a evga 7900gt KO 512mb because i knew they had the stepup program and i knew the 8800's would be comming out soon, so i left the option open for my self.
Well about 15 days before my step up period expiered what happen... G80's came out. so i got consent from my dad to use his credit card when the time came (under 18 so i cant have one nor do i want one... i pay for all my stuff btw). So my number came i went through a couple of emails, they were VERY explanitory and the whole process is VERY VERY easy. They gave me full paying price for the 7900 (359.99) so i had to pay the difference of 140 + shipping for the 8800gts. i got the go ahead to box up my 7900gt ko (i had to take my vf900 off and put back on stock cooler...) and i shipped it via ups... 2 days later they got my card, 2 days after that they shipped my 8800gts that i applied for, and 3 days after that i had it in my hot little hands... it was a very quick and almost painless process.... the only thing that caused pain was having to use a VERY VERY old Matrox PCI gfx card ( made in 1995) during the lag time.
EVGA is SO AWSOME... pluss their cards clock VERY good in my expierence... heck my 8800gts clocks higher than the suppossed 8900gts speeds

With a CC or debit card, just like buying from anywhere else, or buiying straight threw eVGA.....
i have a bank card, but no cc. i live in canada, does a bank card = debit card? =S
I got the 8800 GTS 320 just 2 weeks ago. I'm purchased EVGA cause they had the best price and the step-up program. I'm planning on getting the next high end GPU built on the smaller die process if they come to market before my time is up. If they don't then I'll just get me a 8800 GTX as it would be good enough to hold me over for another 4-5 years I'm sure. Well when ran in SLi anyways.
