I have a PC at home that I connect to from my laptop at school. I want to be able to turn it on when I need it. I know I need to use WOL, and I've set up the NIC in windows and allowed it in bios. Now I need to know what I can use to send the magic packet from school to my house. I have the router set up to forward the port to that pc. Someone help please :D

I have that program. I think my problem is that all of the programs are designed to be used from within the LAN and I'm trying to do it from another network..

So you're going through a router?

Sounds like he is trying to connect to his home network from his school network.

So something like:

Laptop-> college servers/firewall -> INTERNET -> home modem -> router -> PC

Well, if it's a home router/firewall you need to bypass to send the magic packet, just set it to forward UDP traffic on the port that it is using.

You have made sure that this functions from your inside home right? All manner of changes could be made but if it didnt work on the LAN it wont work across the WAN :)
