Well, an XP1500 would be about equivalent to your current rig, and with a bit of easy overclocking, can run as fast as an XP1800 (raise the FSB from 133 to 150)
Obviously, any of the other XP chips will be faster as well, so it all boils down to "How much are they willing to pay?"
my xp 1500+ is running at 160*10 and it stepping is agkga Y week 38 had to up the voltage to 1.85 to get this

If I were to buy an XP right now it would be a 1500+ part... I'm not one for buying high end chips and a lot of them seem to overclock pretty well...

well get the 1600 becuase it's onl a few more moneys. american the 1500 is like 5 less then the 1600.. and i don't know if any1 else noticed this but why does the epox 8k7a not recognize sse2? or the new 3dnow+?
I just bought a 1600 and i have the frontside bus at 152 and I havent raised the core voltage yet. It runs at 1.6 ghz. I figure all the paliminos should overclock well. mine stays at 116 f at full load.
It was made in week 40 by the code.
I recommend you to get either 1600+ or 1800+ with K or Y stepping.
they are pretty good oc-able cpus.
