After reading some posts, i put my AGP aperture size to 128Mb from 64Mb, for some reason i gained 100 points in 3DMark2K1. I know nothing about AGP aperture, what it does, what its for... My question would be, why did i gain 100 points just by making it 128 instead of 64Mb?

its the amount of system memory that the graphics card is allowed to use, but ive never heard of it giving such big performance hikes...
your allowing it to use more memory, therefore it speeds things up
it doesn't have to buffer and unbuffer as many times,
my cards aperature is set at 256

Any difference from 128 to 256?
there is some, but i have 512Mg of memory
you never want to give teh aperature all off teh memory
video will look great, but comp performance slows down

in my expirience the lower the apature the better, it doesnt really increase performance in systems with decent (256+) amounts of ram. I dont know how you got such a big performance increase...its unheard of.. You sure thats all you changed? i believe it, but I am just surprised.
there is an explanation for the agp ap size here: http://www.rojakpot.com/Speed_Demonz/BIOS_Guide/BIOS_Guide_02c.htm
i havent ever noticed such a big improvement from increasing the aperture. its more reasonable to get that when decreasing the amount of system memory released, however this will often harm the quality of the img.
much difference use only to be noticed with older video cards with 16MB or even less of onboard video memory; in your case - i dont know but that must be 64MB, right? - the aperture size should not influence performance like all that.

I know, thats why i was so suprised cause with my Radeon 64DDR i never had such an increase while changing the agp aperture size, thats why i wanted to know exactly what it was. Its the only thing i changed cause windows wont let me play with my memory settings, if i set them to aggressive i get errors so i know i didnt chg that. Dunno, maybe i got lucky:D
