My mouse is USB but I just use the USB->ps/2 convertor. What will I get out of using USB? Anything or just the same?

Nothing, really. It just frees up another usb.

The only thing I can think of it that somethings my mouse plug fall out when I move my computer, but it will stay in when attached to USB.

isnt it possible not to use an irq with an USB device?
my printer is my only usb device and in its port driver settings theres something about not to use irq or fixed irq, cant remember (w2k).

usb has faster data transfer rates - i don't see how that is important - except with the optical and dual optical (maybe), the ps2 adapter is only for if your rig is too old to know what USB is.

I prefer USB myself.. I see know difference between the two (usb and ps2) and mine is a wireless optical trackball....

it just comes down to personal preferences..

that little adapter is to big for me

i pulled on the mouse once and it snaped the ps2 head off the adapter

i like the usb becuase if i need to run the mosue down stairs for the other comptuer and run it back up i dont have to restart anything.

I didn't have anything else using those USB ports. Why not suck one up w/ a mouse? ^^

...if that is true USB devices could release a bit more resource for the system.
