Does this reservoir placement look OK? I could move it up to the right and put it on the shelf, and have the inlet of the res face the same direction as the outlet of the pump.

I think it should be fine. Some people like to keep their res the highest point in their rig just because it's easier to bleed the system that way. Oh and I'm diggin' the all black case.
looks like a P180 but what you've done with it is amazing. looks a WHOLE lot roomier.
Hey Mav,
Awesome build! Is yer resevoir mounted on the DDC? if it is... quite unique.
(have you had any start issues with the Petra topped DDC?) I have... :(
I like how you rotated the mount w/MCW60? which card is it?
At first I was like... ok tube that sucker.... then noticed it's black! heh btw what kinda Tygon is it?
Nice build... looks like were gettn better with new builds.
PS. All the parts are workn great, I'll hafta take some pics... my comp(Oblisk) is tall as a small child! over 1 meter tall !

I think we shud get the Water Myth Busters on this one.... :)
Ive gone through 3 iterations of resevoirs mounted on the bottom of my cases.
All have bled any air in under a minute. I don't think it matters a whit where the resevoir is placed, as long as they're designed properly.

It's Tygon 3400, 7/16" Black Laboratory Tubing. I don't have a single hose clamp in the entire system. Video is 8800gts.
Hehe yea get me your pics I want to see how it's doing. BTW you have the last of my washers! :(
The DDC + Petra's top is doing fine. The reservoir is of my design and Captain Slug made it for me. I've never had a problem with the combo... maybe people are having problems when running the pump dry due to improper placement?
I still can't decide where to put that res though.

Yeah. I made the reservoir so that it screws onto the top of the Petra DDC+ using a 1/4" BSPP hex nipple.
Still wondering why you didn't bother to make a project log for this machine. I'm guessing laziness. ;)

Well, because currently I have to:
1. Unpack all my stuff from boxes
2. Finish up my projector project
3. Make a smoothwall
4. Rewire my HT in the living room
5. Finish writing the Saitek Eclipse vs. Logitech G15 vs. Razor Tarantula Review
Between work (where I'm @ atm), class, and sleep I don't have enough time to put together a pretty project log.
Oh and don't hate on lazy ppl! We make the best engineers! Work smarter not harder... or not at all! :D

Sweet tubing! looks very nice in black. Good thing the rez is clear, or I'd get a bit paranoid of not seeing any water! :) I like the Tygon 2000 series... but dang... 5 bucks a foot US!
I've only taken a vid of it.. I'll have to dig up the cam! yah there were a few washers.. :)
I think my MCP350 start-up issues are due to some air being in the chamber, it's sensitive to that I guess.
Nice rez! The only other place in the case is the empty box area, stick the rez n pump up thru it! (cuttn tho)

No vortex problems when you run the pump ...?

The reservoir inlet is centered to prevent that being an issue. It's not perfectly circular either because I made one of the sides flat so that it's compatible with O-ring use.
Here it is shown upside-down.

Ah! I couldn't make out the flat side in the first pic and proper placement of the inlet helps break up any potential vortex.
Good job ...!
