Ok, here's my problem with my Audigy 4. When I first got it, installed drivers and everything was great up until about 3 months ago. What happens is, whenever I get it installed (Card / drivers), everything works fine until I plug in a microphone.

As soon as I plug in a microphone it literally shorts the sound card and freezes my computer. Once It goes back into Windows, it no longer detects the sound card. If I uninstall the drivers and change PCI slots, it detects again and goes through the same problems.

What really ****es me off is, I can't return it (Over 1 year warranty)

Any ideas?

Maybe its coming out of the PCI slot when you do that? I have a TV tuner in my main rig that if I even shake the case lightly the back part of the card pops out of the PCI slot due to a chipset heatsink the back of the card is pressed against. Have you tried the card out in another system to see if it repeats this issue?
