im thinking of buying this ram set but i read on mushkins site that this board has a problem going over 240fsb at 1T so i was wondering if anyone had this ram on a asus A8n-Sli Premium. again the ram is mushkin redline xp4000 ddr500 2x1024

I don't have that ram but the ram in my sig ran 250fsb 1:1 1T, they also died doing it after 'bout half a year.

The A8N SLI family can be pretty picky about ram timings, and they definately have problems keeping timings at 1T at higher FSBs, but some boards do better than others.

The board does have 1T issues, but I've also seen ddr500+ 1T with the Redline. Depends on the board TBH.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I'd recommend you sell your A8N and invest in a DFI N4 based motherboard. the cost difference wouldn't be that much and the DFI will certainly let your Redline XP's really shine..
