Very poor quality when the cable tv is plugged right in to the back of the card (see image attached). Better quality when running the cable thru the VCR first but still not acceptable to me.

Will try S-Video straight from the TV to the ATI Input Adapter tommorrow.

I am really bummed out about this.

What a junk company ATI is! I waited over 30 minutes to talk to a tech about this problem and they never picked up. This just added 20 to 30 bucks to the price of my junk card since I paid for the call. Called back and the number is now busy.

I got screwed on this card IMO as of the moment!

If the video quality is increasing by hooking up the VCR first, it's more than likely not the card. Try a different cable.

Ok I tried another cable (drilled a hole in the floor, lol) from the basements TV. It was about the same quality. The TVs are crystal clear when hooked-up to these cables, this is why I am so ticked off.

I've been told now by a friend of mine that this is just the way it is with Cable TV into various video cards. I did not known this or would not have bought this card.

I am not gonna be able to try the S video from the TV because it's in-line only s-video, and my vcr doesn't have s-video.

No, somethings wrong with your setup.

Or you have a faulty card.

I've seen it in action and it is very clear.

Hell, my 4 year old Ati TV-wonder is very clear.

Update lol!

The first three video captures are all from fox news.

1 - Cable from wall to video card.

2 - Cable from VRC to video card.

3 - Cable from signal amplifier to video card.

4 - Cable from signal amplifier to video card.

The last one is different channel because fox news doesn't come in as good from the signal amplifier, but overall, all channels are just as good as the VCR setup now.

I bought the amplifier from radio shack for $14, but when I hooked it up it was worse than any other set-up I have been trying. So I uplugged it right away before disconnecting the cable and then, behold, the picture was as clear as the VCR set-up with the darn thing unplugged.

So I punt, lol. Gonna go with the uplugged signal amp set-up for now as overall it's the best viewing for me right now.

I am gonna keep the card even though ATI service sucks IMO, bought the card online so returning it is a hassel and more lost wages too.

My All-In-Wonder story.

It's the cable line coming in. Looks like it's not very strong and the amplifiers / vcr are bumping the signal just enough for the card... guess the onboard electronics aren't doing much in the way of amplifying the signal.
