View Full Version : SP3. Remove all other security updates?
I obtained a release candidate of Service Pack 3 for Windows 2000 (I don't know if this falls under the catergory of that 'w' word, you know the one I mean. I don't think it does), and was wondering if I had to remove all of the other fixes before I installed the new service pack. Does anybody know?
Thanks
oni what fixes you mean? service packs ones or individual fixes?
i know express installation is recommended for users who has already installed older service packs because this way only the needed files will be installed.
microsoft says nothing about your doubt as far as i could find out but the solution is this one maybe: express installation for systems with service packs already installed or network installation for systems with no service pack.
hope this helps.
Hmm.. You can't remove other "fixes..." the sp3 is meant to fix the fixes that is needed.
no, I meant I have a lot of fixes installed since SP2, and I was wondering if I needed to remove them all before installing SP3. You can do that in Add/Remove programs, I was just wondering if it was necessary.

You can install SP3, when they are made they keep in mind that you have already installed previous Service packs and will only install the needed files...
