Just check to see if any of you recieved this email that I got, let me preface this with the fact that over the past 3 years or so I have spent upwards of $300k with the egg (not all for me :D ). Here is part of the email:

"Dear Mr. nikhsub1,

My name is xxxxx xxxxx and I am pleased to inform you that I am your dedicated Newegg.com Sales Assistant. As a way to express Newegg’s gratitude for your extraordinary patronage, I am available to assist you with personalized support on your past, and future, orders with us. Have a question about our current inventory? Need assurance that your order will be shipped out A.S.A.P? Or, do you need an item that we currently don't have listed on our website? I can assist you with these issues, and much more. Just think of me as your personal Customer Service Representative."

This begs the question, any of you get this?

Ehhh, nope... Guess when you give a retailer $300k worth of business you get special treatment :)

Hey you think your purchases are paying xxxxx xxxxx's salary? Maybe he's on commission!

as long as xxxxx xxxxx is helpful and makes sure nikhsub1's problems are taken care of, whats wrong with his salary being commission based? He isn't in direct contact (say bestbuy) so he is not going to be pressuring nikhsub1 to buy anything...

Yes for any single person 300K is enormous, but since I am a system admin for ~300 computers (all of which were built and bought from the egg). I don't mean to boast as it is certainly not my money rofl. I just wanted to set the scene here and see if anyone else received this. Kinda like how everytime i call directv they say I'm one of their best customers, I know they say that to everyone.

That would be sweet! I want to have numbers in my name too :)

Perhaps when his family came, here nikhsub was already taken. So his great grandfather said, "make it nikhsub1!" :D

EDIT: /me also wonders if that $300k in computers is where all that PPD comes from :)

Lol, I'm not saying it was a bad thing, but man, think of commission off of 300k!

It amazes me that somebody makes money to do that. The job, as explained above, seems rather pointless.

Kind of like cell phone dealers, I could buy a phone out of a vending machine and the results would be the same. Seems that they exist only to call and activate the phone and answer questions that are found in the user manual. Things that could easily be done yourself.

The reason that there are special care folks is that they do not want nikhsub1 to call up with a problem and be told by feeb_01 on the phone, "Sorry sir, that's our policy" and basically not take care of him.

It's a guaranteed person to kiss your ass and tell you they can't help you

Not that the egg is bad mind you, I <3 them.

Jason thx for the response, I wasn't questioning weather or not it was real. I was just wondering if this was one of those things that companies say are 'exclusive' but in reality they do it for everyone.
