Just built up my my new system running the Athlon XP 1900, not overclocked. Just wondering what the average idle and running temps are on it with just plain air cooling. Thanks

Honestly, there isn't an answer for that.
It varies from system to system. What HSF combo? How good is your case air flow? What is ambient temp?
I live in AZ my ambient temps are higher than say someone in NY. I also use a PEP66, which was fine last year, but is on the bottom of the list for "Best Performers" this year. AMD's put out heat. A lot of heat, and a lot of factors come into play. My average temps are not gonna be like your average temps.
But to just give you a hint. Mine run around 43 degrees C. That's like 109 Degrees F (Loaded). System temp is in the high 70's(F).
Plus I run H-Oda's cooling hack (KT133A). Which makes a little difference.

Do the best you can with what you have, and if you can afford it.
UPGRADE :D

Good Luck.

If it goes above 43-45c CPU temp idle, there is something wrong.
