View Full Version : Dos Error !! " INVALID DRIVE SPECIFICATION "

I run Win XP on my computer, but when I go into DOS , my Drives ( C: , D: , E: ) cannot be seen, Why??

I type c: ( d: , e: ) and it just says " Invalid Drive Specification "
Made the Partitions with PQ Magic 7, in XP...

HELP !!!

Remember that in XP it is virtual DOS, if you want to run DOS programs, go back to 98SE

Dos can't see NTFS drives.
Dos =< 6.22 can't see FAT32 drives.

Use NTFSDOS + Dos >=7.0 to see your drives. www.sysinternals.com

Or don't. :)

as long as you made logical partitions of your harddrive using fat 32 or ntfs you'll be able to read them from with in xp at the command prompt.

If you're booting with a dos boot disk and have formated your logical partitions in ntfs you'll not be able to read them without 3rd party utils.
