1.88v seems way way too much for an unOC'd thunderbird 1200mhz. I saw a guide where an OC'd 1.33ghz only needed like 1.7v. No wonder my temps are so high!
Sadly my bios and mobo are against me. No bios tweaking to be found, no jumpers on the board. Anyone know a work-around for this? 1.82-1.88v seems unnecessary and everyday it peaks higher and higher (eep!). Not sure what's causing this but I'd like to bring it down!
what kind of power supply are you using? what are your 5v and 12v reading at? It could be that your power supply is going bad. But this is only a guess since you say it is getting higher and higher.

I'm still using the PSU that came with my rig when I bought it a couple years ago. Not sure how to read this guy but it appears to be a Green Line SPX - 250. Then in the specs section is says Total O/P 125w.
it's so hard figuring out what has an effect on what...ah newbie-dom.
here's the elec stats-
+12V:12.74v
+5V:4.81v
i/o:3.34v
core:1.83v
Any guides about that give a primer on what all these mean exactly? I've always been daunted by electricrician stuff.
how much would you say it is creeping up per day or week?
edit. just noticed is that a 125 ooohhhhhh need new power supply. At least a 300. preferably a good brand like antec, or enermax.

I suspect that 125 is the 5+3.3 lines. It's probably a 250W, a 125W psu would burn out on startup with an athlon hooked up.

dude, get a new mobo. I know it's not your PSU, although a new one wouldn't hurt. PC Chips is the worst mobo i know of, if you want cheap get a ECS or shuttle board, but NOT PC CHIPS !!!! Amptron boards are also made by PC Chips too. Since you have DDR ram just get the Shuttle AK31 rev 3.1 with the VIA KT266A chipset, it has lot's of overclocking features and it's only $80 on www.pricewatch.com, you will also need a bigger PSU for this mobo, like a Antec 300w or 400w, i say antec because they are quieter.
