Which camera views do ya'll prefer to use?

1st Person: Inside cockpit, hood in front
Alt 1st Person: In front of bumper
3rd Person: Above and behind car

I was playing NFS:Carbon last night on a drifting course, my roommate got off from 2nd shift and saw me playing and could not understand how I could drift in 1st person mode.

Am I weird for doing the Drifting courses in 1st person? I notice that for all the other mapsets it saves my 1st person view but for drifting it always resets me to 3rd. I can't drive in 3rd person at all

3rd person just looks pretty for me. I use it when I just want to have fun. Enjoy the graphics. Otherwise I use alt 1st person because it gives me more of a feel for the road. yes.. a feel for the virtual road.

I find that if I'm wanting to do well I have to use 1st person, ideally with the bonnet (hood for you americans) showing. Then I can see exactly where the car is in relation to the course.

I would drift in 3rd person though, since seeing the angle of the car relative to the course is important.

In general i play in alt 1st for maximum concentration. NFS:C i play 3rd coz it's pretty :)

That's the only thing I hate about playing in 1st person, no one can see my car!

It's really fun with 2 player though (took me long enough to figure out two player mode.) Apparently during one of the shortcuts I NOSed through the air across the other screen using a shortcut... I didnt' get to see any of it though.. O.o

They were all "Whooaaa! Holy crap!", and I says "What? What happen? Something crash???" and they says "No, you just flew across the screen."

I really prefer the alt 1st person, because I can really tell how close I am to corners and such, especially in drifting where I can tell how much more I can push it relative to the road :P But I agree, it kinda sucks too since I dont get to look at my l33t car :/

You know, I didn't figure myself for a racing game kind of person, but NFS:Carbon is pretty fun... I'm almost tempted to get the M$ steering wheel...

i like 3rd person cuz i like to be able to see the car, especially in games like forza or gt4. in carbon, i definately need 3rd person to drift so that my back bumper doesnt touch the walls at all.
