I don't know how much time has this been ask but, I wanna know how slow my processor is. So basically if you can tell me how much frames per time you can do in an environment like the following so I can then compare and see

If I did the math correctly, it appears that work unit will take around 6 total days to complete.
It would be a good idea if you used the Console Version, instead of the GUI Version. The GUI version runs a little slower than the console version. The current console version is 5.04, you can find it here: http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html
Nothing wrong with the setup you've got right now, its just not optimized.
If you want a comparison, people here use PPD (Points per day). I usually get around 100 PPD on that work unit.
where does it says how many PPD you have done?
It's a mathematical equation or you can get a program like em3 to do it for the console client but not the GUI(Or maybe it will work on the gui) and not the GPU clients....Any way if the WU is worth 1760 and you can do it in 20 hours its 1760/20=88 points per hour. Then 24hours is 88x24=2112ppd.
If you know the frame times in minutes then you can multiply them by the number of frames (100) then convert it into hours. For example (17minx100)=1700/60=28.33 hours. Then divide the wu by the hours it took(28.33) to get the points per hour, and multiply by 24 to get the ppd.

A Celeron Northwood does about 40 ppd/GHz on normal Gromacs. At 2.7 GHz you should expect to see 108ppd on p3038, less if you leave the GUI window open to soak up cpu cycles.
Here's an easy formula:
points per WU x 1440/(frame time in minutes x number of frames) = ppd
you have to convert minutes and seconds into minutes. 10:20 = 10.33 min.
No actually I used the GUI window open just to look at how things were going
, I change to console version now, so anyways, I was asking how u throw the console to the tray or something, as I don't want to have it in the taskbar. Ahh and how many ppd u make with that conroe?
There is a utility called trayit that will do that for you.
I think it is linked off the welcome sticky, or in 3'rd party tools and fc.org ... or just google it.
I don't use it since nearly all my rigs are dedicated folding so i like to leave the windows open on the desktop for easy access.

Another way that you could do it, although it is completely invisible except in Task Manager, and Services.msc, is to set it up to run as a service. You won't be able to open it to look at progress, hence the reason people use programs like EM3 and FahMon. I'm not sure if this was the info you were looking for, but it seems to be the norm around here. By the way, if you really want to talk about a slow CPU, I have a PIII Coppermine 733 running at 994, and it normally takes 9-10 days to complete a patty melt, but a borg is a borg.
:cry:.... that celeron is my main processor on my main rig the one I'm typing into...
There are somewhere around 130 cpus folding for ChasR. The SMP client has turned a lot of machines that used to register as 2 or 4 cpus into registering as 1 so FAH donor stats shows fewer active cpus than ChasR actually has.
According to FAHmon, the E6600 is making 2082 ppd on its current WU.

Here are your folding statistcs! From a 3rd part site, it updates every 3 hours, but its not an exact science....a work unit completed at 6 AM may not show up until 3 PM, so it keeps track in general, not extremely specific.
