just got my apogee gt installed to my water chiller, and now my ASUS temp monitor software is saying my CPU temp is 255c and then bounces back to 0c  is it just too cold for it?

Yeah, try using something like CoreTemp (not sure if that works with your processor) or SpeedFan.

its nothing to worry about.. several people have complained about this and it only happens on Asus boards apparently. Just a little bug which still hasn't been solved

CoreTemp only works on the dual cores, hence "core".

seem's to work fine on my 3700 Sandy. (single core)
I just remember someone telling me otherwise, I don't have a single core CPU in the house to test it on. But that's good to know it does in fact work.
It won't work with some of the older CPU's still in use, hence someone might try it on a single-core CPU that didn't give a core temp.

It works on a Core Solo/Duo procs, as well as most newer A64s IIRC.
