Steam CoD2 Compatible with Regular CoD2? (All games really)

Well, seeing as I'm starting to like Steam more and more for the fact that I can have all my games in one convient app, I'm considering buying Painkiller, CoD 1 & 2 w/ expansions, but my biggest concern is if I go to play Multiplayer, will I be able to play with people who are running the regular version of CoD 1 & 2?

Yeah, its not like the old days where special editions meant lonely editions :P

I have both of those sets, and I can play with any one too.

Great, this is good news. I'm REALLY loving the fact that Steam has been releasing games such as CoD & Painkiller, I find it such a convince that all the games are in there as one. It really simplifies things.
