Well I finally got all my components in and I have got my system up and running. What should I do? Here are the specs:

PIII 1.13 Tualatin
Asus Tusl2-c Bios v. 1009
256mb Kingmax PC150
Millenium GlaciatorII(of course I used ASII)
Visiontek Geforce3 TI200 prod date 45/01
SoudBlaster Audigy MP3+
D-Link 530TX+ NIC
Plextor 16 10 40
Pioneer 16x DVD

According to Asus probe my temps are CPU 31C and MB 28C, I did a lot of homework on these components and felt they were decent at overclockability. What programs will I need to have to check the stability once I do overclock and where can I get them.

Too much to cover... when you say "What should I do" I need to know what you know already so I have a starting point of some type.

For stability testing I loop 3dMark2001 for hours and/or user Toast or run apps while folding to test stability. Unreal Tournament has always been good for checking PCI/bus speed stability.

Well one thing I was wondering about in the bios it says that if you are going to overclock the fsb above 145mhz you need to set the ratio to 133/100/33 is this correct and if so why is this. This part of it should probably be under video cards but what utility do I use to overclock the GF3 TI200 and what are the best drivers for this, I am running Windows XP if that makes a difference on which drivers are good and stable. Also what are your opinions on this setup.

Just scored a 5550 on 3dmark2001, is this good if not how can i improve it.

That 5550 is excellent. Your best bet for drivers on that Ti200 are going to be the Detonator 21.83 drivers. Check with your card's manufacturer and see if nVidia's general drivers will work with your card (or see if you can download the Detonator drivers from their web site). If your card does support the nVidia general drivers, I usually go to www.cnet.com (http://www.cnet.com). Their downloads section has all kinds of good stuff in there... drivers, system enhancers, Sandra, you name it. However, if your manufacturer says you cannot use the general drivers, and they don't have the Detonator drivers specifically for their card, you'll have to find another download site that has them, because I believe cnet uses the same drivers nVidia posts.

2183 are the drivers I am running now, I was going to try the 2280's but I couldnt get my system to update, why is this is there something special you have to do to update the drivers. I just d/l coolbits so I will try to overclock and see what kind of score I can get.

I am not familiar with your particular bios. In order to increase speed you'll need more voltage. To increase voltage you may need to perform a trick with wiring a few pins.

After the voltage issue is addressed, and since you've already got excellent cooling, you can start raising the bus speed from 133mhz... those settings are not familiar to me since I user Abit boards and don't have this setting... I am assuming they are talking about 'dividers'... in that case, keep that setting and start moving the bus speed higher. Watch your temps. If you get a no post during booting or other error when in windows, try raising the voltage and see if it boots/goes away.

There are also some tutorials on the frontpage that could help.

To put it bluntly, his card is newer and better than yours. You have a GF2 MX400, he has a GF3 Ti200.

go to device manager/display drivers/Nvidia GF3/TI / right click/ update driver/ dont search, pick from specific location/ type in location of driver/ then it should install it for you...

oh no, you set it to 133/133/33....if you set it at 133/100/33 then you are underclocking your ram...but the 133/100/33 may be better if your ram cant make it past 145 fsb...

Thanks for all the help guys. Funnyperson I kinda figured that I was supposed to leave at 133/133/33 but thanks for clearing it up for me. Now, I just updated my bios to 1010 which gives me vcore adjustments in the bios, how much should I raise the voltage up, I havent checked to see what my options are for vcore but should it just be small? Say oem is 1.475 should I try 1.5 or is this too much or too little. Also I overclocked my GF# ti200 with coolbits and the 2183 drivers and got a 5913 in 3dm2001.

what you do is move the fsb up a little bit, then if its unstable bump the voltage up a notch then stop when it gets stable, then go to the next fsb, its a really slow process :)

I was overclocked to 220/500 when I got the 5913, I backed it off to 200/475 and got a 5723 so I will leave it here for now. What is the best way to check stability when I start overclocking my processor? This is off topic but how do I make it so I dont have to keep typing in my user name and password to post everytime I post. I am running windows xp and I think cookies are enabled but im not sure(still getting used to this xp).

Try Toast or Cpu Burn... i think you can find them at www.aoa.com

Well after getting TweakBios to get past the 140fsb/4xAGP problem I was successful at overclocking my chip to 1317mhz(8.5X155). The system wasnt stable with the memory set to 2/2/2 so I had to go with 3/2/2. My vcore was set to 1.575 in the bios but sandra showed the vcore to be at 1.63. I also got my video card stable at 220/500. I ran 3DM2001 and scored a 6623 after that I ran toast for 10min with no problems. According to Asus Probe the hottest the processor got was 33c but I dont know how accurate that is(sandra showed even lower temps). The only problem I had was after running the tests I opened up sandra and when I opened the chip/bios info I noticed a major voltage hit in AsusProbe, my +12v dropped to ~1v and the +5v dropped to <1v. Since I didnt like the looks of this I returned my fsb back to 133, but since my memory is stable at 2/2/2 at 133fsb I went ahead and did that. If anyone knows why I might have got this voltage hit please reply( maybe AsusProbe isnt accurate, I dont know).
