I'm considering upgrading soon with a Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 and E4300. I need some memory, but I'm not 100% sure about my choices. Right now i'm deciding between two OCZ 6400 modules- I know its overkill for an E4300, but when you're in Canada, the 6400s cost as much as the 5400s, so I'll downclock the 6400s and tighten the timings, ugh.

I couldn't find the vdimm in the GA-965P-S3 manual, so I don't know if i have to go with low voltage memory. I don't know if these are low voltage memory.

Mushkin SP PC2-5300 1GB 1X1GB DDR2-667 CL5-5-5-15 240PIN DIMM Memory *Lifetime MFR Warranty* $105 each

Which one do I pick?

Do you know of any 5400 modules from a Canadian vendor that are not overpriced?

I've tried tigerdirect.ca, canadacomputers.com and directcanada.com.

It makes me sick how overpriced computer hardware is in Canada- I go to zipzoomfly and now I know why everyone buys corsair- $136.00 USD for this!!!

Get the ocz gold. Best memory for the buck out right now. D9GMH chips so you know they clock high. Your board supports vdimm up to 2.4v so no worries there. This memory will go good with your board as long as you update your bios to the newest version. Try to get a rev 3.3 S3 and you should be very happy.

Shwick, to search for the best Canadian prices, i use www.pricenetwork.ca

it works good, sometimes you can find better prices by snooping around, not every Canadian retailer participates.

After more research i've decided to go with Corsair Value Select PC2-5300 2X1GB DDR2-667 240PIN. Its cheap and it supposedly has a decent chance of ocing to 732 mhz with added voltage and relaxed timings.
Also thanks for the link beatbox.

Be glad you have the x9 multiplier. 732 is 366fsb and 3294mhz processor speed.
