CinemaStar availablility?

Although this is a new HD from Hitachi, it is specifically oriented for HTPCs with reduced power consumption (leading to reduced heat) as well as reduced dB. With the wonderful airflow in my case (warning: do not use a DVine 4 for a high end AMD HTPC) my HDs are at 50-55c, as well as being extremely loud, so I'm anwiously awaiting their release. Has anyone heard anything about them?

yes, heard about them a little while ago. Hitachi stated that's special design for HTPC in mind w/ advantage as stated from you. however, all other spec is exactly the same as the same spec normal usage drive that they sell. soooo, unless they cost the same as their normal lineup, or have better reliablity, I don't think it's worth any extra cost tho. especially most new HTPC case has pretty good HDD cooling already.

Unfortunately, mine is not one of those cases. I overheated a hard drive yesterday after three hours of Premiere Elements doing its thing...
